Information (3Dinfo)
Description
3Dinfo displays information on the 3D model and it also allows the
edition of the display parameters such the color or the opacity of the
objects.
The hierarchy of the objects in the scene is built when the file
is loaded.
This hierarchy can be explored in the tree view, tab
.
Tree
The treeview contains three mains sections: the hierarchy, the options
and the information.
-
Hierarchy
Describe the logical structure of the model. Each item belongs to the
structure and it cannot be modified.
-
Options
-
Highlight
The highlighting allows exploring the model structure from the
treeview.
When this option is checked, each object is highlighted when its
name is selected in the treeview.
The object whose name is selected in the treeview is
highlighted in the 3D display.
This option can be checked directly from the toolbar button
This button is also very useful when all the original display
options of the objects should be restored; when the highlight
function is unchecked, the initial display options are restored.
-
Hide
Hide the unselected objects.
-
X Rays
The unselected objects are displayed with transparency ; this
mode is a little bit time consuming and it should not be used
with very wide objects ...
-
Outline
The unselected objects are displayed with their outlines.
-
Move on
Move the camera near the selected object.
-
Rotation center
Move the center of rotation into the center of the selected
object.
-
Invert the selection
Highlight all the objects but the one with the name
selected in the treeview.
-
Picking
While the highlighting allows exploration from the hierarchy,
picking allows exploration directly from the 3D scene.
-
Highlight
When an object is clicked in the scene, it is highlighted
as if its name has been selected into the treeview.
-
Show in treeview
When an object is clicked in the 3D scene, the treeview is
opened and its name is selected.
-
Display tip
When the mouse is stopped on an object in the 3D scene, its
name is displayed in a tip window.
-
Display tip hierarchy
When the mouse is stopped on an object in the 3D scene, its
name and the whole hierarchy is displayed in a tip window.
-
Animate
When this option is checked, all the changes in the scene
are performed in an animated way.
The animations parameters are available in the toolbox described
bellow.
-
Hierarchy

-
Display
Allow to choose the items to include in the hierarchy.
-
Entity
Include the entities that built the objects. The entities
contain the geometrics data. Each object could have zero,
one or more entities. The entities can be handled only
from their owner object.
-
Options
Open a toolbox for each object. This box allows to
change the display option, as described bellow.
-
Materials
Include the materials used by the object, if any.
Materials allow sharing graphics options among several
objects.
-
Sort
Allow to change the sort order of the object list in the tree
view.
-
By name
The objects are sorted by their name in the tree.
-
By size
The objects are sorted by their size in the tree. The size
of an object includes the size of the sub-objects.

This section describes the toolboxes linked to the items in the
treeview.
-
Hierarchy
The toolbox associated to the hierarchy item allows searching
an object.
The text to search in the name of the objects or in their text
attributes is entered in the edit area.
The button launches the search. The result is displayed as
an additional hierarchy in the treeview.
-
Object
This toolbox is associated to each object in the treeview hierarchy.
Some display parameters of the objects could be changed using it.
-

When this option is checked, the display options of the
associated object come from its hierarchy. As soon as one
of the parameter is changed, this option is unchecked by
the application.
The inherited options are grayed.
